Welcome to CalFi: Loan, EMI & Savings. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights — written in plain language, without legal jargon.
CalFi is designed to be a privacy-first application. Your financial calculations stay on your device, and we collect only the minimum data needed to keep the app stable and supported by ads.
1. Who We Are
CalFi: Loan, EMI & Savings is an independent mobile application that helps you understand loans, mortgages, compound interest, and savings goals. For any privacy-related questions, you can reach us at the contact address at the bottom of this page.
2. Information We Collect
CalFi works offline. The financial numbers you type — loan amounts, rates, terms, savings goals — are processed entirely on your device and are never sent to our servers.
The only data we and our service providers may collect is the minimum needed to keep the app stable and to display ads:
3. How We Use Your Information
The limited data collected by our service providers is used exclusively to:
We do not sell your data, build personal profiles about you, or use your financial inputs for any purpose whatsoever.
4. Advertising (Google Mobile Ads)
CalFi is free to use and is supported by advertising. We display ads through Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), a service provided by Google.
To serve ads, Google may collect and process certain information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address, ad interaction data, and general device information. This may include personalized ads in regions where this is permitted.
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization".
For more information on how Google uses data from apps that integrate AdMob, please review Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. Firebase Services
CalFi uses Google Firebase for basic app analytics and stability monitoring. Firebase helps us understand how the app is performing in aggregate and quickly identify crashes that need fixing.
The Firebase services we use may include:
Firebase may collect technical data such as device model, OS version, app version, anonymous installation ID, country/region, and basic interaction events. This data is processed by Google under its privacy policy. We do not link this data to your identity.
6. Data Retention
Your financial calculations and saved scenarios live only on your device. If you delete the app, this data is removed along with it.
Aggregate analytics and crash logs collected through Firebase and Google Mobile Ads are retained according to Google's standard retention policies (typically up to 14 months for analytics).
7. Children's Privacy
CalFi is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
8. Security
Because your financial inputs never leave your device, there is no transmission of sensitive financial data between CalFi and our servers. Any communication with our service providers (Google Mobile Ads, Firebase) uses industry-standard TLS encryption.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited data processed through the app.
9. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personally identifiable information directly, most traditional data subject requests do not apply to CalFi itself. However, you always have the right to:
For data processed by Google through AdMob or Firebase, you may exercise your rights directly via Google's privacy controls.
10. International Users
CalFi is available globally. By using the app, you understand that limited technical data may be processed by Google in countries outside your country of residence, in accordance with applicable data protection laws and Google's privacy commitments.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through an in-app notice.
Your continued use of CalFi after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
